Spicy hot and sour Shrimp Stew قلیه میگو جنوبی Ghaleih Meigoo

Ingredients:

  • 500 gr Shrimp
  • 500 gr Coriander (You may add fresh or dried Fenugreek if you have some)
  • 1 or 2 bulb Garlic
  • 1 or 2 Onion
  • 2 or 3 medium size Potatoes
  • 2 or 3 medium size Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato past
  • 2 tablespoon Tamarind paste
  • Turmeric, Salt and Black pepper ( and Red pepper)
  • cooking oil

Grind the onions in the blender, or grate them or cut the onion into small dice,

Place them into the pot, add some oil,

stir fry the onions on medium heat until soft and golden,

Grind the Garlic in the blender, or grate them or cut them into small dice,

add into the pan,

add more oil if needed,

add 2 teaspoons Turmeric and some Pepper (the amount of pepper depends on your personal taste),

continue to stir-fry for 2–3 minutes,

Grind the coriander in the blender, or cut them into very small ,

add them into the pan, continue to stir-fry for 5 minutes,

add 2 tablespoons tomato past, fry for 2 minutes,

add oil if needed,

add the shrimps, mix all the ingredients over medium heat,

pour 2 cups of water,

cover the pan, bring the water to boil, then add the diced potatoes,

cover the pan,boil the potatoes until done,

add 2 tablespoons Tamarind Paste (the amount of sourness depends on your personal taste),

add the diced tomatoes,

cover the pan, boil all the ingredients for 10-15 minutes,

dice and fry some garlic for design and enhance the flavor of your stew!

Traditional Shrimp Stew can be eaten anyway you want to eat it. You can use rice or you can use bread!
