1 or 1/2 cup: Unpelted wheat(Gandom): Start about 12 days before Norooz,
or Lentils(Adas) or Mungs (Mash): Start about 15 days before Norooz,
Note: In all steps you need to take good care of it just like taking care of a new born baby!
Clean and wash the Unpelted wheat then soak the seeds in water for about 2 days or until they start sprouting under water, change the water everyday,
Transfer them on a spread-out cotton cloth (towel or paper towel). You should cover it both on top and bottom. make sure the cloth covering is moist and humid at all times,
sprinkle with water 3,4 times a day,
You will notice that the sprouts begin to grow. Continue to sprinkle with water every day.
choose a suitable platter,
Put some cotton or some wet kitchen roll in the bottom
Transfer the sprouted wheat on it
sprinkle with water
put another towel on it and sprinkle with water again
make sure the cloth covering is moist and humid at all times,
Continue to sprinkle with water every day,
Once the sprouts grow to about 1 cm and become green, it is no longer necessary to cover them with a moist paper towel
It is time to uncover the sprouts,
if you have a sunny day, Put the platter under the light straight for 2,3 hours a day,
Place platter on a windowsill,
Continue to sprinkle daily with water.
As the days go by the sprouts grow longer and turn into a darker green,
Within 12 days, you should have a full platter of green stems.
use scissors in order to cut the longer stems and making a good looking Sabzeh!
