Hearty Lamb soup thickened with chickpeas (یخنی نخود شیرازی (آبگوشت نخود


  • 500 gr Lamb
  • 2 potatoes
  • One cup chickpeas
  • One Onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Saffron
  • Salt, pepper and Turmeric

Place chickpeas in a large bowl and cover completely with cold water. Allow to soak overnight, about 12 hours.

chop the lamb, dice the onion,

place them all into a pot, add the chickpeas and Saffron,

pour 3 cups of water,

cover and simmer over medium-low heat about 1-1/2 hours, or until done,

chop potatoes and add to the pot, add some turmeric, Salt and pepper, pour more boiling water if needed (add the chopped tomatoes at this time as well )

cover again and simmer over medium-low heat about 30 minutes,

 separate the juice from the ingredients,

Blend all the ingredients well

You can mix the juice with small pieces of bread
